Blue Gates was established in 2020, in Erbil, Iraq.

Mr. Ali Zalaya founded Blue Gates and the company started trading in mid-2020 when all the necessary permits and approvals were received. Blue Gates was focused on importing Hempel paints from Kuwait and distributing them across the country. Blue Gates took over Hempel’s existing dealer network, seven distributors in different parts of the country at that time.

In 2021, Blue Gates’ main focus was on expanding the network of dealers to get better coverage all over Iraq. During the year, an additional 8 distribution centers were established, covering almost all governates and significant cities.

In 2021, Mr. Karsten Pedersen also became a partner in Blue Gates.

In 2022, Mr. Tariq Al-Nahas  also became a partner in Blue Gates and General Manager 

Mr. Tariq Al-Nahhas is the General Manager of Blue Gates Company, and he was the General Manager of Hempel Paints Company in Iraq, Syria, and Kuwait

Mr. Tariq Al-Nahhas has more than 30 years of experience gained through his work in the field of management and industrial projects. He is a businessman in the Middle East region and has a proven track record of managing and developing business and industrial projects.

In 2022, Blue Gates added air conditioning to their portfolio by establishing themselves as the exclusive distributor of ClimaControl in Iraq. Also in 2022, Blue Gates has been qualified to bid for several large and prestigious projects across Iraq and is in the process of setting up additional offices and warehouses in the South of Iraq.

Blue Gates will continue to focus on premium brands, supporting construction, infrastructure, and building maintenance.
